83 percent of applicants to Dakota State University were admitted for fall 2018

At Dakota State University, 75 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 59 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Madison enrolled 3,382 students in fall 2018, including 2,993 in undergraduate and 389 in graduate programs, data shows. 8.4 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

60 percent of undergraduates are residents of South Dakota, and 39 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (83 percent) and Black or African American (4 percent).

The school admitted 83 percent of the 1,056 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 46 percent enrolled.
