The public is invited to attend a diversity potluck and food drive on Sunday, April 3, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the McCrory Gardens Education and Visitor Center which is located on 22nd Avenue across from Wal-Mart.
What better way to celebrate the diversity of our growing community than by sharing the foods that remind us of our homes near and far? The potluck will feature dishes from an array of ethnic and international origins.
Those attending are asked to bring a food item (hotdish, salad, bread, or dessert) that is representative of their heritage. Table service, chicken, coffee, punch and water will be provided. Additionally, if able please bring a nonperishable donation for the local food pantry.
“Besides enjoying delicious food, the diversity potluck is an excellent way to learn about your fellow Brookings residents and their heritage” said Lawrence Novotny, a member of the Brookings Human Rights Commission, the sponsor of the diversity potluck.
Attendees will also have an opportunity to participate in an interactive activity.
