Of the 285 people living in Chester in 2020, 34.7 percent (99) were women and 65.3 percent (186) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Northeast South Dakota News.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by 36. In the 65 and over age range, there were 21 females and 16 males.
