Ball Park Improvement Bid Notice

2T(June 29 & July 6)

The City of Britton (Owner) is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project:

BRITTON BALL FIELD - Engineer Project No. 24056

Sealed Bids for the construction of the Project will be received at the office of the Owner located at 1203 3rd St, Britton, SD 57430, until Monday, July 11, 2022, at 10:00 am local time. At that time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read immediately thereafter.

The project includes the following Work but is not limited to: Site excavation of 1,100 cubic yards, 600 cubic yards of topsoil, 4,200 square feet of bituminous pavement, 1,500 square feet of concrete pavement, 160 cubic yards of new ballfield infield material, 200 linear feet of 8-foot-tall chain link fencing, 615 linear feet of 4-foot-tall chain link fencing, 1 chain link backstop, 2 foul poles, and site seeding.

Bidding Documents may be downloaded from the designated website. Prospective Bidders are urged to register with the designated website as a plan holder, even if Bidding Documents are obtained from a plan room or source other than the designated website in either electronic or paper format. The designated website will be updated periodically with addenda, lists of registered plan holders, reports, and other information relevant to submitting a Bid for the project. All official notifications, addenda, and other Bidding Documents will be offered only through the designated website. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the designated website.

Bidding Documents may be purchased for download online at the designated website for a fee of $20. Resident South Dakota contractors who intend, in good faith, to bid upon this project may obtain a paper set of these documents free of charge. Non-resident contractors may receive these documents upon payment of $20.00, none of which is refundable

Construction services in South Dakota are subject to tax under SDCL 10-46A. Contractors shall include the applicable tax in their bid price for each item of work. Tax questions should be directed to the South Dakota Department of Revenue at 800-829-9188.

Bid shall be submitted on the prescribed form.

The submittal of the Bid will constitute an incontrovertible representation by Bidder that the Bidder has examined carefully the bidding documents, visited the site, is familiar with the local conditions under which the work is to be performed, and correlated bidder’s observation with the requirements of the bidding documents.

Each bid must be accompanied by Bid Security as specified in the bidding documents. Successful bidder shall begin the Work on receipt of the Notice of Proceed and shall complete the Work within the Contract Time.

The City of Britton reserves the right to retain the bid security of the three lowest bidders for a period not to exceed 30 days after the date and time set for opening of the bids. The City of Britton reserves the right to reject any and all bids or any parts thereof.

Instructions to Bidders: For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents.
