Armed Services Memorial Dedication

The concept or design of the Armed Services Memorial is a continuance of the existing World War II Memorial Aircraft. In 1964, the United States Air Force donated a historical aircraft to the City of Lake Norden. The aircraft is dedicated to Norris Wenum in remembrance of his service to our country during World War II. The exterior of the aircraft was refurbished during the construction of the Armed Services Memorial in 2007.

The Memorial is located directly south of Lake Norden's Memorial Park Baseball Field.

Plaques with the names and branch of service of your loved one may be purchased for placement on the Armed Services Memorial Wall and must be submitted by March first of the current year. Plaques purchased after March first are welcomed, but will not be placed on the wall until the following year.

In case of inclement weather the service will be held at the Lake Norden Community Center located at 520 Main Avenue
