That’s the number of public fire hydrants in the City of Brookings! If you notice your neighborhood fire hydrant is still covered in snow, please help our firefighters by clearing the snow from around the hydrant.
Firefighters need a 3-foot clearance around hydrants to operate them and provide room to connect hoses.
They also need a clear path from the hydrant to the street.
