The City of Brookings Street Division will be applying a dust control solution to primary gravel roadways and alleys starting today (Tuesday, June 27). Weather permitting, the goal is to finish the primary roadways by week’s end.
Routes include, but are not limited to, Western Avenue, Medary Avenue and alleys. “After Friday, we will still have some alleys to address as workload permits,” said Street Manager Jeremy Linstad.
The project consists of heavy surface maintenance and the application of magnesium chloride as a dust suppressant/surface stabilizer. The project will slow driving times with temporary closure of roadways as the work is being done.
“We ask motorists to please use caution. If you see crews are working in your area, we recommend using alternate routes,” Linstad said.
