Dusty Johnson comments on border security and IRS scam warnings

Rep. Dusty Johnson, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing South Dakota’s at-large district, shared a series of tweets highlighting key issues and events on January 28 and 29, 2025.

On January 28, Rep. Johnson commented on border security achievements. He expressed satisfaction with recent progress by stating, "This is an incredible decrease. Working together, we are doing what we said we would do—secure the border."

Later that day, he issued a warning regarding scams involving impersonation of the IRS. He advised caution against fraudulent messages seeking personal information, emphasizing that "the IRS will not request personal and financial information via text." He provided a link for more information on this issue.

On January 29, Rep. Johnson extended his congratulations to Tony Venhuizen for his appointment as South Dakota's Lieutenant Governor. In his message, he noted their friendship and expressed confidence in Venhuizen's leadership capabilities by saying, "Tony and I are good friends, and I know he’ll continue to lead South Dakota well in this role."
