In a series of posts on Twitter, U.S. Congressman Dusty Johnson, who represents South Dakota's at-large district, shared reflections and thoughts corresponding to significant religious events and a recent passing. Johnson, who has been serving in Congress since succeeding Kristi Noem in 2019, is known for his active social media presence.

On April 19, 2025, Rep. Dusty Johnson reflected on Good Friday by quoting the Bible: "But He was pierced for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities; upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with His wounds we are healed. - Isaiah 53:5 Have a blessed Good Friday." In doing so, he shared a traditional meditative verse referencing the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, resonating with many observing the day.

The following day, on April 20, 2025, Johnson marked Easter Sunday with another biblical passage: "Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia! 'We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.' - Romans 6:4" Here, he celebrated the resurrection of Christ, observing a central tenet of the Christian faith.

On April 21, 2025, Johnson addressed the recent passing of Pope Francis by expressing his condolences: "My thoughts are with all who mourn the passing of Pope Francis. We will remember his life as one dedicated to the Lord and to advancing the Gospel. May he rest in peace." Johnson acknowledged the influence and life dedication of Pope Francis, reflecting on the Pope's contribution to the faith community.

Dusty Johnson, born in Pierre, South Dakota, in 1976, resides in Mitchell and graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1999.
