Rep. Dusty Johnson, who serves in the U.S. Congress representing South Dakota’s at-large district, continues to engage actively with his constituents through social media. His recent tweets address significant legislative and environmental issues.

On May 1, 2025, Rep. Johnson criticized the Environmental Protection Agency’s decision under the Biden Administration, stating, "In the final days of the Biden Admin, the EPA allowed California to enforce zero-emissions requirements for cars and semitrucks – forcing new vehicles to be fully electric by 2035." He expressed his opposition to these regulations, noting that he voted against them to enable Americans to choose their preferred vehicles.

In another tweet on May 1, 2025, Rep. Johnson expressed support for a recent mineral deal facilitated by Trump Administration leaders. He stated, "The mineral deal demonstrates our commitment to peace and an end to the war." He praised the agreement for its potential to reinforce the country's autonomy, especially in reducing dependence on China for essential minerals.

On May 2, 2025, Johnson shared news about federal grant funding that he believes will significantly benefit South Dakota. He stated, "This is great news for our state." The grant aims to assist communities within South Dakota in recovering from recent natural disasters. Johnson expressed gratitude for the support received from the Department of Homeland Security and Governor Kristi Noem.

Rep. Dusty Johnson, who replaced Kristi Noem in 2019, continues to focus on policies supporting his home state and national interests. Born in Pierre, South Dakota, he has an educational background from the University of South Dakota and currently resides in Mitchell.
