Rep. Dusty Johnson, a member of the U.S. Congress representing South Dakota’s at-large district, recently shared a series of tweets detailing the benefits of what he describes as "The One Big, Beautiful Bill." The bill is characterized by its emphasis on conservative principles and aims to achieve several key objectives.

On May 20, 2025, Rep. Johnson highlighted that "The One Big, Beautiful Bill is PACKED with common-sense, conservative wins. Here are 32 examples." This statement underscores his belief in the bill's alignment with conservative values.

In another tweet from the same day, Johnson elaborated on specific measures within the bill aimed at border security. He stated that "It secures our southern border by completing 701 miles of primary walls, 900 miles of river barriers, 629 miles of secondary barriers, replacing 141 miles of vehicle and pedestrian barriers, and strengthening border surveillance technology." This indicates a comprehensive approach to enhancing border infrastructure and surveillance capabilities.

Further emphasizing fiscal responsibility, Rep. Johnson mentioned that "It is the largest deficit reduction in a generation with $1.6 trillion in mandatory savings." This highlights one of the financial strategies embedded within the bill to address national deficit concerns.

Dusty Johnson has been serving in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Kristi Noem. Born in Pierre, South Dakota in 1976 and currently residing in Mitchell, he graduated from the University of South Dakota with a BA in 1999.
