Rep. Dusty Johnson, a member of the U.S. Congress representing South Dakota’s at-large district since 2019, recently shared a series of tweets highlighting legislative measures and investments. Born in Pierre, South Dakota in 1976, Johnson has been an active voice in Congress since succeeding Kristi Noem.

On May 20, 2025, Rep. Johnson announced that a new legislative measure "decreases taxes on Social Security." This statement reflects ongoing efforts to adjust tax policies affecting retirees.

In another tweet from the same day, Johnson highlighted significant advancements in infrastructure with a focus on aviation technology. He stated that the initiative "makes historic investments in air traffic control, bringing technology into the 21st century." This move aims to modernize critical components of national transportation systems.

Additionally, Rep. Johnson addressed changes regarding financial transaction reporting requirements by noting that the legislation "stops the Biden-era rule that would have required Venmo, PayPal, and gig transactions over $600 be reported to IRS." This adjustment seeks to alleviate some reporting burdens associated with digital and gig economy transactions.

Dusty Johnson continues his congressional service while residing in Mitchell and is an alumnus of the University of South Dakota where he graduated with a BA in 1999.
