Rep. Dusty Johnson, a U.S. Congress member representing South Dakota’s at-large district since 2019, shared a series of tweets outlining legislative measures on May 20, 2025.

In his first tweet, Rep. Johnson stated "It defunds Planned Parenthood." This succinct statement suggests a legislative effort aimed at withdrawing financial support from the organization.

In another tweet posted moments later, Rep. Johnson emphasized infrastructure funding, asserting that "It protects the Highway Trust Fund by ensuring EVs pay their fair share." This indicates a proposal to adjust electric vehicle contributions to the fund that supports national road maintenance and development.

Additionally, Rep. Johnson addressed social welfare policies in his third tweet, stating "It enforces work requirements for able-bodied adults without dependents who receive SNAP or Medicaid benefits, helping to lift them out of poverty." He further clarified that these requirements would not impact "pregnant women, seniors, those with disabilities, or those with young children at home."

Dusty Johnson was born in Pierre, South Dakota in 1976 and currently resides in Mitchell. He graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
