Rep. Dusty Johnson, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing South Dakota’s at-large district, shared several updates on June 2, 2025, via social media platform X. Johnson has been in office since 2019, following Kristi Noem's departure from the position.

On June 2, 2025, Johnson highlighted the financial benefits of a legislative measure known as "The One Big, Beautiful Bill." He stated that "The One Big, Beautiful Bill prevents the largest tax hike in American history. A family of four in South Dakota will save $1,431 per year. This bill also protects our small businesses, allowing our state and local economies to continue to grow."

Later that day, Johnson expressed his support for legislation concerning women's sports. He mentioned his role in voting for this measure by stating "Women’s sports should be for females only. I’m proud to have voted to pass legislation to protect women’s sports so biological women don’t face unfair competition biological men."

In another post on June 2nd, Johnson recounted a discussion he had with Boys State attendees in Aberdeen. He noted that "I had a great discussion with the Boys State attendees in Aberdeen on some important topics including the deficit and China’s growing influence in the U.S. We also talked about how to get involved in government and the importance of volunteering."

Dusty Johnson was born in Pierre, South Dakota in 1976 and graduated from the University of South Dakota with a BA in 1999. He resides in Mitchell.
