Rep. Dusty Johnson, a member of the U.S. Congress representing South Dakota’s at-large district since 2019, shared his thoughts on several pressing issues through a series of tweets on June 4, 2025.

In his first tweet, Johnson expressed optimism about the future impact of blockchain technology. He stated that "Blockchain technology will transform and empower every industry, much sooner than most realize. It’s time for us to step up." This reflects his belief in the transformative potential of blockchain across various sectors.

Later that day, Johnson addressed concerns regarding national security and agriculture. He tweeted about an incident involving Chinese nationals and their alleged intent to harm U.S. agriculture: "I've been sounding the alarm for years that China seeks to undermine America's food supply. These two Chinese nationals brought an agroterrorism weapon, funded by the Chinese Communist Party, into the U.S., which would devastate our crops." This statement highlights his ongoing concern over foreign threats to American agriculture.

In another tweet posted later in the evening, Johnson discussed legislative efforts to combat drug-related issues in the United States. He mentioned recent actions taken by Congress: "There is no quick fix to the fentanyl and opioid crisis but today the House took meaningful action to address this drug crisis. I voted to pass the SUPPORT Act to provide resources for prevention, education, treatment, and recovery efforts, as well as workforce training and law." This demonstrates his support for comprehensive measures aimed at addressing substance abuse challenges.

Dusty Johnson was born in Pierre, South Dakota in 1976 and currently resides in Mitchell. He graduated from the University of South Dakota with a BA in 1999.
