Representative Dusty Johnson, who has served South Dakota’s at-large district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, recently shared a series of updates on legislative actions and his ongoing work for constituents via social media.

On July 10, 2025, Johnson commented on federal efforts to restrict foreign ownership of American farmland. He stated, "The Trump Administration has taken decisive action to ban purchases of farmland by Chinese nationals. The Chinese Communist Party is constantly looking to undermine our food security and national security. South Dakota is a leader in this and has already banned land purchases".

Later that day, Johnson highlighted legislative progress on a comprehensive bill addressing several policy areas. He wrote on July 10, 2025: "The One Big Beautiful Bill is a HUGE home run: Strong investment in border security Low taxes No tax on tips, overtime, or Social Security Cuts Biden-era red tape".

On July 11, 2025, Johnson reflected on his work over the past year representing South Dakota. He posted: "It’s been a busy year so far serving the people of South Dakota. I’m not slowing down any time soon."

Dusty Johnson was born in Pierre, South Dakota in 1976 and currently resides in Mitchell. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Dakota in 1999 and succeeded Kristi Noem as the state’s representative in Congress.
