Rep. Dusty Johnson, a U.S. Congressman representing South Dakota’s at-large district since 2019, used his social media account on July 17, 2025, to highlight recent legislative developments and advocate for regulatory reforms.

In a post at 14:14 UTC, Johnson stated, "The Golden Age of America demands a faster regulatory approval process. My ePermit Act will speed up this arcane process and improve American competitiveness on the global stage."

Later that day at 14:54 UTC, he commented on new legislation regarding digital assets: "The regulatory certainty provided by CLARITY will launch a golden age of digital assets, transforming every industry like the internet did. Today is a watershed victory for America."

At 19:54 UTC on the same day, Johnson reported progress in Congress: "My CLARITY Act just passed the House with broad bipartisan support. I’m grateful for the partnership of @RepFrenchHill @CongressmanGT and @RepBryanSteil on this historic legislation. I hope the Senate acts soon so America can lead in digital asset innovation."

Johnson was born in Pierre, South Dakota in 1976 and currently resides in Mitchell. He graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree. Johnson succeeded Kristi Noem as South Dakota’s sole member of the U.S. House of Representatives after her departure in 2019.
