Rep. Dusty Johnson, who represents South Dakota’s at-large district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared his views on sports policy, agricultural regulation, and national legislation through a series of posts on social media.
On July 23, 2025, Johnson commented on a decision by the U.S. Olympic Committee regarding eligibility in women’s sports. He stated: "I’m glad the U.S. Olympic Committee made the right decision – biological men should not be competing in women’s sports."
The following day, July 24, he criticized California's Proposition 12 and called for congressional intervention: "California’s Proposition 12 is a fantastic failure, and it’s time for Congress to fix that mistake."
On July 25, Johnson expressed appreciation for former President Donald Trump hosting lawmakers at the White House: "Thanks to President Trump for having the key champions of the historic One Big Beautiful Bill over for dinner at the White House. It was an honor! "
Johnson has represented South Dakota in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Kristi Noem. Born in Pierre in 1976 and now residing in Mitchell, he graduated from the University of South Dakota with a bachelor's degree in 1999.
