Rep. Dusty Johnson addresses law enforcement efforts and community projects in recent posts

Rep. Dusty Johnson, who represents South Dakota’s at-large district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of tweets addressing issues ranging from public safety and immigration to local community developments and firearms policy.

On August 11, 2025, Johnson commented on ongoing law enforcement efforts under the Trump administration, writing: "Criminal illegal immigrants are still roaming our country and trafficking massive amounts of drugs. Under President Trump’s leadership, federal, state, and local law enforcement are working together to make America safe again."

Two days later, on August 13, 2025, Johnson highlighted the establishment of a new Jewish community center in Sioux Falls: "The Chabad Jewish Community Center in Sioux Falls will be the first of its kind in South Dakota. Chabad is a Hebrew acronym which stands for Chochmah, Binah, and Da’at, which translates to wisdom, understanding, and knowledge. It was great to be there for the groundbreaking".

Later that day, Johnson addressed firearm suppressor regulations following a visit to Silencer Central: "Silencer Central is the leading manufacturer of firearm suppressors in the U.S. I stopped by to discuss how the One Big Beautiful Bill eliminates the tax on suppressors, short-barreled rifles, and short-barreled shotguns. I was honored to receive an award for my support of the".

Johnson has represented South Dakota’s at-large congressional district since 2019 after succeeding Kristi Noem. He was born in Pierre in 1976 and currently resides in Mitchell. Johnson graduated from the University of South Dakota with a bachelor’s degree in 1999.
