Rep. Dusty Johnson discusses agriculture and tribal issues during August visits across South Dakota

Rep. Dusty Johnson, U.S. Congressman representing South Dakota’s at-large district since 2019, shared updates on August 15, 2025, regarding his recent engagements with agricultural stakeholders and tribal leadership in the state.

In a post from that day, Johnson wrote, "I joined Agtegra in Aberdeen to discuss challenges facing South Dakota agriculture, including key Farm Bill priorities and developing soybean markets for producers." (August 15, 2025).

Later the same day, he commented on a local event: "The Brown County Fair is a highlight of the summer. Great people and great food make for an amazing day at the fair." (August 15, 2025).

Johnson also met with tribal leaders to address community needs. He posted: "I met tribal leadership in Sisseton to discuss issues facing Indian Country, including support for law enforcement, federal funding for key programs, emergency management systems, and housing shortages. At the Sisseton Wahpeton Tribal Historic Preservation Office, we discussed" (August 15, 2025).

Johnson has represented South Dakota’s at-large district since succeeding Kristi Noem in Congress in 2019. Born in Pierre in 1976 and currently residing in Mitchell, Johnson graduated from the University of South Dakota with a BA in 1999.
