Rep. Dusty Johnson, who represents South Dakota’s at-large district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared a series of updates on social media regarding national security, local economic discussions, and agricultural appreciation.

On August 16, 2025, Johnson addressed concerns about foreign influence on American agriculture, stating: "The Chinese Communist Party is not our friend. We must protect our farmland."

Two days later, on August 18, 2025, Johnson reported meeting with community stakeholders in Rapid City: "I had a great discussion with local business and community leaders at Elevate Rapid City. We talked about a wide range of topics including infrastructure projects, education, childcare, property taxes, and the economy."

On August 19, 2025, Johnson highlighted his participation in an event supporting local agriculture: "It was great to attend Ag Appreciation Night at the Central States Fair in Rapid City to not only thank our farmers and ranchers, but to talk about some recent wins coming out of D.C. The One Big Beautiful Bill was a huge boost for rural America and provides funding for risk"

Johnson has served as South Dakota’s sole member in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2019 after succeeding Kristi Noem. Born in Pierre in 1976 and currently residing in Mitchell, he holds a BA from the University of South Dakota.
