Rep. Dusty Johnson, who has represented South Dakota’s at-large district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, shared updates on his recent activities and state issues through a series of posts on August 21, 2025.
In a post published early that day, Johnson highlighted his participation in an agricultural event: "Dakotafest showcases the best of South Dakota agriculture. I joined our senators and the South Dakota Farm Bureau to discuss the Farm Bill, conservation programs, agricultural research, and protecting American farmland from being purchased by China and other adversaries." (August 21, 2025).
Later that morning, he addressed developments in the state's energy sector: "The merger between NorthWestern Energy and Black Hills Energy will ensure affordable and reliable energy for South Dakotans. This move will secure good paying jobs and a great company culture which will benefit communities across the state." (August 21, 2025).
In another post that evening, Johnson expressed gratitude to military veterans: "These individuals answered their country’s call to serve. I had the opportunity to thank these 14 Vietnam-era veterans and their families for their service to our country during a pinning ceremony in Mitchell." (August 21, 2025).
Johnson is currently serving as South Dakota’s at-large representative after replacing Kristi Noem in Congress in 2019. Born in Pierre in 1976 and now residing in Mitchell, Johnson graduated from the University of South Dakota with a bachelor’s degree in 1999.
