Rep. Dusty Johnson, who represents South Dakota’s at-large district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on his recent activities and legislative efforts via social media on August 22, 2025.
On August 22, Johnson shared that he attended the American Coalition for Ethanol's annual conference. He stated, "I joined the @ACEethanol annual conference to discuss my work in Congress to support the ethanol industry and producers in South Dakota. We talked about land conservation and the importance of year-round E15."
Later that day, Johnson highlighted local manufacturing initiatives in Brandon, writing, "Spartan Emergency Response in Brandon is manufacturing fire truck components to protect communities across the country. This group prioritizes workforce development in their community through employee training and partnerships with Southeast Technical College." This post emphasized both public safety infrastructure and workforce development through educational partnerships.
In another update on August 22, Johnson described a meeting with business leaders: "I joined the Sioux Falls Chamber for a discussion on my work in Washington. We talked about a wide range of topics including agriculture, trade, and economic development. I also highlighted my legislation to ban individual stock trading by members of Congress and the many wins in"
Johnson has represented South Dakota’s at-large congressional district since 2019 after succeeding Kristi Noem. He was born in Pierre, South Dakota in 1976 and currently resides in Mitchell. Johnson graduated from the University of South Dakota with a bachelor’s degree in 1999.
