Rep. Dusty Johnson, who represents South Dakota’s at-large district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed several topics on his official social media account, including mental health resources, educational achievements in South Dakota, and political violence.
On September 8, 2025, Johnson highlighted a national mental health resource by stating: "If you or someone you know needs help, 988 is a lifeline for anyone struggling with their mental health. This 24/7 resource provides counselors who can help via phone, text, or chat. #988Day https://t.co/qkGl78MTRi".
Later that same day, he recognized the accomplishments of local schools: "Congrats to Howard High School, Jones County Middle School, and Warner Elementary School for being selected as National Blue Ribbon Schools. On September 10, 2025, Johnson commented on an incident involving Charlie Kirk: "Praying for Charlie Kirk and his family. Political violence has no place in our country."
Johnson has served as South Dakota’s at-large congressional representative since replacing Kristi Noem in 2019. He was born in Pierre in 1976 and currently resides in Mitchell. Johnson graduated from the University of South Dakota with a bachelor’s degree in 1999.
