Rep. Dusty Johnson, who represents South Dakota’s at-large district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted his legislative activities and policy priorities through a series of posts on social media.
On September 25, 2025, Johnson wrote about his engagement with local business leaders: "I joined the Brookings Area Chamber of Commerce to talk about ag trade, preventing a government shutdown, protecting Social Security, and the importance of economic development for South Dakota. Thanks for having me!"
Later that day, he discussed his meeting with financial sector employees: "I talked with Citi employees in Sioux Falls about some of my legislative priorities like banning members of Congress from trading individual stocks and the tax cuts I voted for that will benefit working families across South Dakota."
Addressing concerns over federal budget negotiations on September 26, Johnson stated: "Government shutdowns are stupid. I’m working with @SenRonJohnson to prevent them from happening ever again. The American people deserve better."
Johnson has represented South Dakota’s at-large congressional district since 2019 after succeeding Kristi Noem. Born in Pierre in 1976 and currently residing in Mitchell, Johnson graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
